Lighten Our Darkness is a concert of music for choir, soloists, instrumentalists, and congregation. It speaks of Christian hope even in the darkest of times.

First Pres announces its 2023 Christmas Concert. To be held Sunday, December 17, at 4:00 pm. All are welcome to enjoy this special musical Christmas gift; tickets are not required.
FREE FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT ON TUESDAY, JULY 18, WITH CARTOONIST EARL MUSICK
Open to the community, the event will feature Christian messages and include humor, stories, and a cartooning demonstration.

FIRST PRES OFFERS "REQUIEM" BY JOHN RUTTER
First Pres will offer a Tenebrae Service (Latin for Service of Darkness) including Requiem by John Rutter, on Good Friday, April 7, beginning at 7:00 pm. Tenebrae offers a dramatic retelling of the suffering and death of Jesus through scripture, hymns, choral music, and eventual darkness.
FIRST PRES HOSTS MISSIONS FAIR ON FEBRUARY 26
First Pres will host a Missions Fair, open to the community, on February 26, from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, at the church, to learn about organizations who focus on selflessly helping those in need, reflecting the love of Jesus.

First Pres will offer a “Darkest Night” service on Wednesday, December 21, at 7:00 pm., to provide comfort for those who have lost loved ones, are experiencing grief, or struggle for any reason during the Christmas season

A SOUND OF HOPE IN OUR COMMUNITY
New carillon bells are to be installed in fall 2022 in the main tower of the First Presbyterian Church of River Forest, dedicated to the life of Mike McAdam.
