Middle and high school students, and their families, are invited to join us at Pacific Garden Mission for the opportunity to volunteer and serve the homeless residents at the mission. After a morning of service to others, we will take a tour of the mission and watch a live recording of the longest running radio drama in history, UNSHACKLED!, which tells people’s real-life testimonies of how God transformed their lives. Youth are welcome to invite their families, but volunteers ages 11 and under may have different opportunities to serve. RSVP is required.

"Knit Together" Craft Night "

Friday, October 10
7:00–9:00 pm

Inspired by Colossians 2:2, Knit Together is a time for middle and high school students to connect through creativity, community, and crafts. Whether you’re into crochet, knitting, embroidery, or something else, or just curious to learn, this event is for you! All skill levels are welcome — from total beginners to seasoned crafters. We’ll have space to create, share techniques, and even learn the basics if you’re just getting started. Bring your current project or come ready to try something new. Let’s create, encourage, and stitch together something beautiful.

Winter Retreat

Each winter our youth go to Camp Timber-lee in East Troy, WI, for a Winter Retreat! The weekend is filled with worship, small  group discussions, snow activities, and plenty of time to hang out with friends. Timber-lee offers broomball, karaoke, a game room, cross-country skiing, tubing, tobogganing, and ice skating, and more!

The middle school and high school students each have their own weekend retreat. This is a wonderful time for our youth to gain independence, grow in faith, and just have fun!

MISSION TRIP

Developing a servant’s heart is an important part of our youth program at First Pres. Each year the youth group goes on a mission trip over the summer to places such as New Orleans, South Dakota, and Mexico to help those less fortunate.

The mission trips are designed to be a mixture of hard work, spiritual growth, and good clean adventurous fun.  At the end of the mission trip, the youth will return sharing in memories that will last a lifetime and enjoying a renewed excitement about what Jesus is doing in all of their lives.

Jesus said in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

High School Small Groups

Small groups led by adult church members help students live out their faith in practical ways and learn more about the God we serve through Bible study, discussion, mentoring, and community building. Most groups meet weekly or bi-weekly throughout the school year. Groups are separated by gender and grade level–9th/10th grades and 11th/12th grades.
